Skin Cancer -
Skin cancer appears most frequently on sun
exposed parts of the body, i.e., the face,
neck, scalp, hands, shoulders, arms and
back. The ear and lower lip are also
especially vulnerable. Diagnosis of skin
lesions usually requires a biopsy. This
involves removing a piece of the affected
tissue, with examination under a microscope.
If a tumor is present, definitive treatment
is necessary and can include excisional
surgery under a local anesthesia or
cryosurgery.
Ask Drs. Berghash, Lanza or Zeiders for
additional information. |
